For the Brisket:
- 4 –5 lbs beef brisket flat or point cut
- 2 tbsp beef bouillon powder
- 1 tbsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp smoked paprika
- 1 tsp black pepper
- 1 tsp onion powder
- 1 tbsp olive oil
For Cooking (Slow Cooker or Smoking):
- 2 cups beef broth for slow cooking
- 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
- 1 tsp salt adjust based on bouillon powder’s saltiness
Prepare the Brisket:
Pat the brisket dry with paper towels.
In a small bowl, mix bouillon powder, garlic powder, paprika, black pepper, and onion powder.
Rub the brisket with olive oil, then coat it evenly with the spice mix.
Cooking Methods:
Slow Cooker Method:
Place the seasoned brisket in the slow cooker.
Pour beef broth and Worcestershire sauce around (not over) the brisket.
Cook on low for 8–10 hours or until tender.
Let it rest for 20 minutes before slicing.
Smoking Method:
Preheat smoker to 225°F and use hickory or oak wood chips.
Place the brisket fat-side up and smoke until the internal temperature reaches 195–205°F (about 6–8 hours).
Wrap in butcher paper or foil at 165°F to retain moisture.
Let the brisket rest for 30 minutes before slicing.
